Petoskey stones are scientifically named Hexagonaria Percarinata and are pieces of fossilized coral that lived in the warm shallow waters that covered Michigan 350 million years ago. The translation of Petoskey is "Rising Sun" or "Rays of Dawn". When dry the stones blend in with a variety of others grey stones. However, when wet or polished a beautiful honeycomb pattern magically emerges revealing the beauty and alluring nature of its original form. Many people make a living off of polishing and carving Petoskey stones.

"Rising Sun" was our first puzzle in a series of Petoskey stone puzzles. It was released in June of 2009. Since then we are proud to have put out 5 other puzzles, a calender and coasters. All products are made in the USA. Puzzles are a great way to spend quality time with friends and members of your family.
